How To: DIY Water Marble Stickers! No Water Needed!

Hello everyone!

I love the look of water marble nails but I hate how long they take to create! So when I saw people creating water marble stickers, I had to give it a go to see if that was any easier.

The bulb of my daylight lamp had blown and the spare I had was broken so these photos were taken in natural daylight (which was hard to find as it was a horrible rainy day!). Also, as I was in a rush, I didn't have time to set up my camera so there is no video tutorial for this design :( I'll try and explain what I did as best I can below!

Swirly Watermarble!

Hello everyone!

I was looking through my old nail art photos the other day and came across this watermarble design I did last year and forgot to post! I used pastel colours so it's perfect for Spring!

Double Water Marble Nails

Hello everyone!

I've got a bit of an obsession with water marbling recently, mainly due to the fact that I think I've found a way that works really well for me. A while ago I saw Carmen from ineedamani on Instagram do a double water marble design and I thought it was the coolest idea ever! After doing my water marble design last week I was reminded of her design and had to have a go at doing it myself!

Summer Water Marble Nails

Hello everyone!

Today I've got some water marble nails to show you. I did get a few bubbles in this design but I love the colour combo so it doesn't matter too much! :)

Classy Water Marble Flowers

Hello everyone!

I've been loving all the sunshine we've been having in the UK recently and although today seems to be a bit grey I had a go at doing some floral nails. The last time I did floral nails was exactly one year ago to the day when I tried creating some roses on my nails! This time I thought I'd try some water marble flowers. I realise the colours aren't very spring-like but I still love how they turned out!

Water marbling without water!

Hello everyone!

For those of you who struggle with water marbling there is a solution! I was sent a stamping plate* by Born Pretty Store and one of the designs on there immediately caught my eye. I knew I had to do some water marble style nails and this is how they turned out!

I can water marble!

Hello everyone!

Today I wanted to show you my water marbled nails! Water marbling is one of those techniques that seems to frustrate so many people a) because it takes so long to do and b) because you never know if it's turned out OK until after you've spent half an hour taping up your  fingers and dropping polish in a cup.

I've tried water marbling twice before and both times it was very hit and miss. I might get 1 nail that looked OK but the rest were varying degrees of fail! Also I struggled so much with finding suitable polishes that would spread in the water and polishes that wouldn't dry quickly on the water surface. All in all it was a very annoying, long process. I haven't tried water marbling in about a year and a half and have no idea why I was suddenly inspired to give it another go.

In all my previous attempts I used a small teacup and filled it with room temperature tap water as I'd read that cold water made the polish dry faster. However, I still found the polish didn't spread very far so this time I used an eggcup and room temperature tap water. Then I used NEW nail polish - the Nails Inc Picnic Perfect Collection (swatches here and here) in Ebury Square Gardens and Leonard Street for the water marbling Also these polishes had thin formulas so I thought they might be good for water marbling as gloopy polishes don't spread well. I used the polishes in my dupes post as bases except on my thumb where I used Barry M White.
