Nail Art Weekly Project - Week 5

Hello everyone!

It's the final week of the Nail Art Weekly Project started by Danni from Gingerbread Smiles and I can't believe how fast it's gone! I have loved coming up with different designs for each theme! This weeks theme is Glitz and Glam and I wanted to incorporate the negative space technique I've seen recently with glitter polish and here's how they turned out:

I well and truly flooded my cuticle doing this design lol! I did try cleaning up around the edges but glitter polishes are always so difficult to remove!

I used the Nails inc. 3D glitter polishes for this design. For my thumb and little finger I used Nails inc Sloane Square, for my index I used Nails inc. Bloomsbury Square, for my middle finger I used Nails inc. Fitzroy Square and for my ring finger I used Nail inc. Connaught Square.

To create the negative space I used 2 ring reinforcements and stuck them on either side of each nail and then painted 2 coats of the glitter polish in the gap in the middle. Then once the polish was dry I peeled off the ring reinforcements to leave the negative space :)

I hadn't seen this design anywhere before but after searching on Google found that they are called hourglass nails :)

You can click below to see what I've done for previous weeks themes:

Week 2 - TV/film
Week 3 - Valentine's Day

Let me know what you think and I'll be back soon with some more nail-related stuff!
